Artistic Passion

The Start of an Artistic Passion

Where it all began

As its mentioned in a earlier post on this blog, I started my passion at a very young age. Always had pencil and paper near by. When I was in Elementary school I would always run out of paper. I often got in trouble for drawing on the paper instead of doing the work, or I'd make the header of the paper all nice and doodled up. A very good friend of mine J'Aaron Merchant, and I would always be drawing, as well as helping each other. I learned a lot from her. She is an amazing artist.
When I was in the 8th grade, I drew my first picture, It was a graphite drawing of a monkey. After that it was like wow. I couldn't stop drawing. I am very blessed to draw, my entire jr. high and high school I've taken all the art classes I was allowed to. Learning basic color theory, as well as art terms.  My Sophomore and Junior year I went to a summer art camp at Cameron University where they gave us more depth and understanding of Art. Below there will be artwork that I have created in my High School and first 2 semesters of College.

TAMARA'S FAVORITE THINGS
1st Semester of Freshman Yr of College Final
December 2009
30 in x 30 in
Charcoal & Conte'

My 1st Semester of College was not a piece of cake. The instructor was very artistically harsh, but the push was very much needed. It was said that "Its shown in the work when, Someone loved what they do." When these words were spoken I was not very acceptable about it.
I do enjoy drawing, and painting etc. just when I am into something I just work on it straight no breaks, which is what happened here.
Using the subtracting method to create an amazing piece of work.

CIRCUS TWINS: GEMINI VISION SERIES
2nd Semester Final
 May 2010
30 in. x 30 in. (Each)

Another Assignment that was given in a college class.
EMOTIONS is the only world that I can honestly use to describe this piece.
They say some artists make the best work when they go through something drastic.
At First I did not really care for this assignment when it was given but, realizing I am a twin Astrologically.  Good Vs. Evil, Happy Vs. Anger.
I chose to go along with the "BirdLady" from circus freaks, with the puppet masters, as the main focal point. The contrast in color, shading and positioning make the story that is being told so much clearer.Reflecting Life and Death. I called the piece  Gemini Vision, because, to the world, Gemini's are very confused, destructible and two faced being. An outsider looking in would see this, but unless your a Gemini yourself, you will never truly understand.
This piece for personal then any other work that I have created.
